President Thomas Monson

President Thomas Monson, Henry Eyring, and Quinton Cook, all leaders of our church, came to the cultural celebration. The whole thing really was put on FOR these guys. Anyways, I loved seeing the kids get so excited about meeting them. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. These first few are my very favorite. These girls are in my ward, and I was so happy I captured their faces in reaction to shaking a prophet's hand.

Laie Temple Cultural Celebration

I'm a few weeks late, but I had a lot of pictures to go through. The Laie temple was rededicated recently. Over two thousand youth all across Hawaii rehearsed different dance numbers depicting the history of Hawaii and how the church came about. It really was such an amazing performance. The prophet was there as well, but he deserves his own post. I really hope that this cultural celebration is eventually available via broadcast sometime so everyone can enjoy it.

The Oshiros

My bishop at church asked me to take some very traditional photos of him and his wife. I told him I did not have a studio, and it might not be exactly what he wanted, but he still wanted to hire me. I couldn't help but still take them outside to do a few. My backyard has quite the view, eh?

The Waikiki Edition Hotel Ballroom

Here are some pictures I took for Townsend Lighting a few months back. These lighting fixtures are in the brand new Waikiki Edition Hotel. It is unbelievable! If I ever get to stay a night in that place, I know we have made it in the world (financially speaking).

*note - I was not allowed to photograph anything other than the lighting fixtures because the hotel was so brand new and they hadn't had their grand opening yet. If you want to see the ballroom in it's final look, see it in the 2nd picture of the slide show here. Those red curtains are beautiful!
